About Dr. Sonkens

I am an Otolaryngologist, trained to treat medical problems of the Ear, Nose, Throat in all age groups.

I graduated from Brigham Young University. Later, I obtained a Master of Science in Human Anatomy from George Washington University. I also received my M.D. from George Washington University then completed a residency at John's Hopkins University Hospital. My specialty was Otolaryngology, Facial Plastics, and Head & Neck surgery.

My Special Training

• Scientific research grants from the National Institute of Heath (Bethesda, Maryland)
• Pediatric Externship with Professor Emilo Soto (Washington, D.C.)
• Fellowship training in head and neck cancer surgery (John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland)
• Advanced ear surgery training at House Ear Institute (Los Angeles, California)
• Advanced Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) training in New Orleans, Louisiana
• Guest lecturer in Advanced Endoscopic Surgical Techniques (Vienna, Austria)

I am trained to treat:

• Tumors/growths of the head and neck
